CLIENT: Inner Essence Dance Company and its community members
ROLE: Social Media Chair
OBJECTIVE:
Design graphics for social media, create engaging content, and maintain public relations on social media platforms
DURATION: May 2022-May 2023
Inner Essence Dance Company is a collegiate dance team at Cal Poly Pomona for all skill levels. They offer an open environment for dancers at all levels to meet, dance, and grow as both an individual and dancer. Their events include on and off-campus performances as well as free dance workshops for the public.
Social Media Graphics and Management
I created and designed all social media graphics for the Inner Essence Dance Company Instagram as well as any video content. These include promotional flyers for their free public workshops, team member birthday celebrations, team events, performance videos, and more.
I also managed their social media, with a heavy focus on Instagram, to increase their brand awareness with the Cal Poly Pomona campus and the Southern California dance community. I constantly kept their community and its team members updated with upcoming events and highlighted any events. I handled any inquiries that were directed to the social media pages as well.
Engagement was increased by 4.5% and from the month of February-May 2023, there was a 22.2% increase in reach.

Team Merchandise Design
Along with social media design and management, I also designed the team's merchandise. Inspired by fluid movement in dance as well as the typography of iconic 'thank you' bags, I created a design that would embody Inner Essence Dance Company and its team culture.
I partnered with Ivana Avanceña and the team president, Joshua Morisaki, to bring my design to life through a screen-print transfer process. The hoodies were distributed to most team members.
